And...it should not look genuine? I must be missing something. And I wish I had never sold my Eire collection. Note to self: Never ever sell a stamp collection!
I still can't believe I found this stamp in a bag of kiloware! I took a look at it and thought, naw I'm seeing things, it must be a fake. But under a 30 loupe it looks genuine and the cancel is time appropriate so, yay! Looks like my modern used Irish singles won't be incomplete after all!
I am leaving it on piece, of course, to keep as much of the cancel as possible.
Isn't kiloware a fun scavenger hunt? You never know what you'll find!

Reminds me of the series "Peaky Blinders" on Netflix ..with the thugs, the cops, the Ira and the Communists..i liked it but it may be too dark and violent for most tastes !
I got a message from the editor of the Revealer, Liam Malone, and he said that it was known that a few were used in the Cork area to pay bills. He will be sending me more info on known used usages later today.
Are there any other members of the EPA here other than myself and bobstew617?

Yes if you sort enough stamps, you will eventually find a true gem as Theresa has.
Two nights ago I was sorting common used US, and found a Scott #159 unused, with most of the gum intact. Scott CV is $475. several months ago, sorting a mess of machins, I discovered a color-missing error, that has sold on ebay for $265 just recently.
Congrats Theresa and keep on sortin' em

Linn's contacted me and asked for permission to use the image. I gave them a better scan. I'd like this info out there so other folks keep their eyes open for other copies. Old Capt'n Jack or whoever he is might be out there sitting in a bag of kiloware somewhere!

In answer to question as to where I bought the kiloware, it was from a dealer in Australia - Kevin Morgan. He is currently sold out of the Irish commemorative mixes, but he has lots more stuff. Warning - the shipping from OZ is very expensive. Happy treasure hunting!

Thank you so much everyone! You never think you'll ever be the one to win the lottery or make a great find and then lightning strikes! woohoo! You never, never know!
I was planning to keep it and put together a complete modern used for an exhibit, but dang I'm starting to get some tempting offers. Not sure what I'll do. We're waiting and thinking it over carefully.

Theresa, if were you, I would hold on to that stamp. You'll probably won't have another chance to have one, and then you would regret it. Congratulations! BOB S.
I agree with Bob S. — keep it! Too many times I have sold or even given away stamps or covers that I wish I still had. Books, too. I'm a bit of a packrat, granted, but my wife is just the opposite, and too often I've given in to her need for Zen-like simplicity! Keep that stamp, I say, keep it!

Yes. That was a great find. Congratulations. This reminds me of Saleem's find of a few years ago of two imperforated pairs of the 10c Clock definitive, which is still in use today. Hope for him USPS never issued uncut press sheets of that stamp later Here is the Linn's aticle on his find at the time. Looks like we are building quite a track record ...
Saleem's find is great - I hadn't heard about that probably because that's when we were moving and the stamps were packed away. And Michael mentioned someone else here had a find earlier in the year? Membership here must come with a special dose of philatelic pixie dust! LOL
So my question is - who here in Stamporama is going to find the next philatelic treasure and continue our lucky tradition?
Also - Michael mentioned adding a scan of my find to the banner. Sure, but could we also add Saleem's find and the other one someone mentioned?
