I have recently returned here after a prolonged absence due to moving house, creating a(large) garden here, home improvements, retirement, and a (now cleared up) medical problem.
We moved to this house in order to have a larger garden to occupy us in our retirement.Unfortunately when we arrived we suddenly realised that it is far larger than we thought - and in not very good order, so we have had to spend a disproportionate amount of time getting it sorted, particularly the hard landscaping and punishing physical jobs which due to possible physical restriction in the future had to be tackled earlier rather than later ( not being morbid just realistic!) However that all having been done and the British winter approaching it is time to get out the albums again !
You will note that I have started to post again, and hope to contribute(positively) to discussions, and also when I get my eye in to perhaps initiate some.
My interests consist of a semi-specialised collection of used Machins, a world-wide postally used collection and identifiable postmarks on piece ( and occasionally on cover).
I have about 500 envelopes of stamps to sort through so I am not aquiring anything new at the moment - but once I have got a few envelopes fully dealt with I should have some material to trade. My past collecting activities have been such that I tend not to have much really modern stuff -most of the material I will have to trade, when I finally get around to it will be from 1970 to about 1993, but there will be odd items outside that period, which have arrived accidentally !
As an aside I appear to be unable to link to the "lets trade" part of the site. Any ideas?

Glad to have you back, Malcolm! I have noted already your very informative and enlightening posts, and they are much appreciated.

I am not really sure what you mean here. You access the "Let's Trade" section of the DB just as you access all other topics on the DB. If you want to link to the Let's Trade section, use the following URI: http://stamporama.com/discboard/disc_main.php?action=10&id=127

Ahhhhh, understood. I do not know anything about links embedded in the Rambler. You'll have to address this issue to Kelly (Poodle_Mum).

re: Returning after absence
I just did a tester on my phone and there does appear to be a problem with several embedded links. I'll fix them later today. Thank you for bringing it to my attention.

I won't have time today to go back to the Ramblers and fix the issues with the links to the website, but it will be done for sure over the next few days - I promise. I have to also work on the next edition of the Rambler, so as I do that, I'll be able to review the others and fix everything. Thanks again for bringing this to my attention.

Hi Malcolm,
It is wonderful to hear from you again. Please feel free to include pics of your work in the garden. Many of our members are gardeners as well as stamp collectors.
