re: My turn! - Jigsaw puzzle mystery stamp. With a prize!
Wow it looks like an angel overlooking a scene in the middle east. ?? I don't think I've ever seen the stamp before so it is probably from a country I don't collect. Hmmmm Tough one, Roy! The cancel looks like it might say Madagascar? Ohhhh I found it!!! C56! Malagasy Republic!! I had to use the catalog though - kinda cheated!

Good work!
For what it's worth, I was looking in the right direction, I had figured out it was probably a French colony before the latest two pieces were added. Nice stamp.

Fantastic puzzle - thanks for posting. I am impressed with the knowledge of our members as well. It's a kind of "I can name that song in three notes" level!

re: My turn! - Jigsaw puzzle mystery stamp. With a prize!
Thanks everyone! The postmark gave it away for me.
I don't collect either of the countries or topics the nifty souvenir sheet represents, so how about we auction it and the proceeds go to the club? That way it will end up in a collection where it can be appreciated. Postally used sheetlets like that are tough to find! Everyone has to bid bid bid!!! LOL Would that be OK Roy?

Congratulations to Philatelia!
Roy, if you don't mind my asking, how did you do the puzzle layer? in which package? (I understand layers, but that looks like a nice pre-made template. -- Or did you create it yourself?) Very nicely done, both of you!

re: My turn! - Jigsaw puzzle mystery stamp. With a prize!
I grabbed a jigsaw puzzle template off the Internet. Then using Gimp, I resized it to fit over the stamp image, made the white background of the jigsaw puzzle transparent, added it as a layer over the stamp image. Then, working backwards, I selected each area of the puzzle pieces and filled that area with black, saving the image after each "fill-in" until only one piece showed ... that was the starting image. Whole process took about 15 minutes.
