It's a Pharmacists' Scale used to weigh powder meds. It is from the 70s.

VERY cool! I love old gadgets and instruments. We toured a museum in Cambridge full of old scientific instruments that were spectacular in their intricacy and precision. Neat stuff!!!

I still have one like that at work. Use it very sparingly as most stuff comes in ready to use formulations now. Still fun to get it out now and then.... If you are going to actually use it, do not touch the weights with your bare hands as that will alter their properties and make measurements inaccurate. Sally

I recommend the Museum of Questionable Medical Devices. My wife and I visited there 15 years ago and met Bob McCoy. We had our heads examined by him! He sadly passed away shortly after that, but the museum lives on at the Science Museum of Minnesota. If you can't make it there, Bob McCoy's book "Quack!" is a great read!
