I have a horse racing set I need some help with. It is SG1087-1090 gutter pair strip (see photo). I'm kind of a novice with Great Britain stamps. Can anyone help me with what this set would be worth?
FYI, 2015 Scott is showing Great Britain values in the early to mid QEII-era to be on the decline. I'm almost finished with GB, and will fully report on it soon. From the SG values that were given, if you change the pound sign to a dollar sign, you would be on the high end of the US Scott values. The set of four singles, Scott #863-866, is $1.30 in the 2015 catalog.

This is why such issues of this era are now being used as postage. It seems that 80% of stuff sent to me from eBay sellers are franked with similar issues. Nobody wants these here in the UK. Even the traffic light gutter pairs are totally ignored.
Trying to get these on cover (ideally as 'in period' solo frankings), is a challenge and probably where there will be value in the future.
Gutter-pairs was a collectors fad at the time that the stamps were issued - and no one seems to be interested these days.So-called "Traffic lights" are purely a printers tool to check on the registration of the various colours - and I never did understand the interest shown in them - I suspect a certain amount of dealer manipulation !
