Sorry, but you are the one that needs to identify this WORLD FAMOUS MYSTERY STAMP QUIZ, only if you want to win the prize. I believe the last quiz was way back in Sept. or Oct. of last year, so it is time for another one, to stimulate, agitate and aggravate all of your minds again.
This MSQ is a little different, due to the fact there are two stamps involved, but to help make it easier and since I'm not really a sadist, I will list clues in a group, first one stamp, then the other, etc. etc., but am not going to tell you just how many clues for each there will be. I will tell you the stamps are a complete set and as a bonus, one of these stamps is shown in the Scott catalog, unlike last time the MSQ stamp was not shown. I will tell you these are not minimum value stamps, so that eliminates 2/3 of the catalog, also they are foreign stamps. (foreign to everyone but the people that live in the issuing country, that is. hahahahaha) Also, these stamps are not part of any currently live auction lots, that I am aware of.
Now for the rules:
1 - There is only one rule: You must identify the stamps with the country of issue, plus a catalog number or date of issue, or a scan of the stamps, is all that is needed. Everyone is eligible to play and the first person to identify the stamps will win them.
The best of luck to everyone!
Mike

Well, it's better than the first size - so since you expect a guess and you said it's not a 20cent stamp - how about a Penny Black slightly cross-eyed?

I can smell those brains just working overtime to figure this out, so I'll slip in another clue for you and then maybe another tonight before retiring for the evening.
Mike
That may look like an eye, but it's not.
I've enlarged not only the scan, but also the amount of the stamp that is visible in the clue, so hope that helps everyone.
For those of you using the Scott's catalog, the second stamp is not shown, but the information about the stamp is available to you.

So Mike - just so I've got things cleared up - I *didn't* win a penny black?

Awww, come on there Kelly, qwitcherwhining and get back to the catalogs. I've never seen a penny black with so much light coloring to it and you haven't even seen the second stamp yet. I might be out of my tree, but I think there is even some Green on one of the stamps, even though I may be missnaken.

Lars, you must be psychic or is it psychotic? I do get those two words mixed up. That is the closest guess yet, since name of the mystery country's name has some of the same letters in it as your suggestion does. There is even a semblance of numbers involved, well at least one number is the same, but that's pretty close, isn't it?
Let's face it, this next clue probably won't do much for any of you, but it is a clue, I think!
Oh wow, I'll just bet you're all in the Pink now! Maybe even getting warm and fuzzy, maybe not.

I guess that wasn't much of a clue, was it. Sorry, for all of the long faces, yeah right! OK let's go for another helpful clue, something that will give you a foot up, maybe!

Holy frijoles, not even a guess after that great clue. How digitally disappointing that is. OK, we'll suffer through that and get another wonderful glue up here for you. I hope there aren't any that suffer Acrophobia from this next clue because I'm not sure if this is down looking up or visa versa, but I seem to be suffering from vertigo, but then that could be from the wonderful grapes that I imbibed at dinner time. I had a very healthy dinner tonight consisting of all natural foods, bananas and grapes, fed to me one at a time by my Nubian concubine slaves.........one banana, one bottle of grapes...aaahh delicious!!!
OH crapola, I just woke up...don't have time to read what I writ, so will just post the clue and get my buns to bed. Good luck y'all.....

Sorry, but have not even made it to your country yet. Would love to visit several museums, but don't think these images would be visible in any of them, so put your proboscis to the old grindstone and finger this out. Have to go cut the grass again, so may just put on another great clue in a couple of hours.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, Bobby, my life is complete now and I will be a happy man until the bitter end. If I have aggravated you, just imagine how many others have abstained from voicing the same issues.
As you mentioned I have no idea how my lovely bride, of over 50 years, has managed to put up with my shenanigans and still be reasonably sane.
I shall try to exceed my reputation and add another great clue for everyone, very shortly.

Okay, here is the long awaited next clue. Now I can't see the forest for the trees, but it looks to me that somebody, or something needs to spend six bits.
I've got to jump outta here for now, get ready for my dinner date, but will hop back in and check on things and maybe give another great clue later.

Well I see that last clue was a humdinger, eh? Maybe one of the next clues will give you an indication that you will have to go upland to see any relations here.

The dotted line is just to separate the clues and not part of the clue itself.
Good luck with that, will be back in the AM.

I suspect that this first clue might put a lot of light on the subject, but only if you are not using a Scott's catalog, sorry. The second one may enlighten you more that the first.

Oh good - thanks Liz - I needed to know I'm not the only one wandering aimlessly around when Mike and Michael do these quizzes / tournaments.
I'm just envious that Jill always seems to win them!

Sorry, I forgot to show the stamps of the Mystery Stamp Quiz.
I'm in agreement with you ladies, I don't how she does it either. I'm sure she was sitting on her hands just waiting for someone to guess this one and just got tired of waiting, so she jumped in there and put everyone out of their misery. Remember the MSQ she won, on the first clue and didn't even collect U. S. stamps, which was the subject stamp.
And Liz is right in the fact she couldn't guess it with the picture in front of her. I seem to remember using one of the stamps in one of her live auction lots and she didn't win that one either. In all fairness it was just one stamp out of many that she was selling as a mixed lot, but it was still funny.
