Collecting the world 1840 to date - one stamp at a time! 12 Jan 2014 01:47:42pm
Hello all,
just a quick introduction of myself... My name's Keijo, and I'm a stamp collector.
Some of You may already know me (either from my stamp blog, or other stamp websites), but here's a short brief.... I started stamp collecting as a kid in the early 1980s, and haven't really stopped ever since. My misses is a stamp collector too; and also our kids have been exposed to stamps (with varying success).
Like most I started by collecting the world; at 15 (or so) I started to dream of collecting all Finnish stamps and got a bit carried away by the thought as I was soon building a semi-specialized collection of classic Finish definitives. Within few years I got bit bored with it (especially as progress would have required muchos $$$ which I as a student lacked), and came back to collecting worldwide stamps. Haven't looked back ever since... So far the collection has about 85,000 major catalog number items (+ somewhat large number of varieties, forgeries etc. items I display on my blog).
I found SOR maybe 3-4 years back, and have been reading the forum as non-registered ever since. But the approvals feature got me finally signing up.
Looking forward to some good chatter.

PS. Oh, and here's my mug (and on the back part of worldwide collection)

You wil truly have arrived on Stamporama when you have learned to live with David's puns.

indeed it is, Dave, and a dangerous one given the fragility of my puns and their dependence upon knowing words from two different languages otherwise unrelated.
and bless the moderators who suffer me silently

Welcome aboard the SOR stamp club, Keijo, we're glad you finally decided to join us. I have just recently checked out your blog and was amazed at what you had accomplished in such a few short years. There are a many great people here and you will certainly enjoy the auctions and approval books sections.

i am sorry i caused you concern, Keijo. Usually my puns only cause distress in the brutalized funny bone. I will try, and likely fail, to rein myself in. And welcome indeed.

Hi Keijo,
Wanted to add my welcome to Stamporama to you; it's been my favorite stamp collecting site for several years now. I know you have a lot to add to our discussion boards as anyone who has visited your excellent blog will attest!
