David, i still have hundreds of #1 glassines to go through from the box i purchased from the refrigerator man at Orapex..lot of older Belgium..you may be able to help me identify ones that look similar on the long sets !!!
The Belgians refer to this issue as the Marchand Lunettes series. Marchand is the name of the man who took the photograph of King Baudouin, lunettes is French for eye glasses; as this is the first stamp to show the King wearing his eye glasses.

re: Any Belgium Specialists?
David, apart from the few stamps I posted in my earlier Belgium Approval Books (don't know what is still left to pick)...material which is not ided for the specialty stuff you are looking for... I have several hundreds more in envelopes to explore. I am not specializing, so feel free to look through them for what you want and email me or message me, when ready to discuss how we can handle this, should you decide you want to keep some.

I am not a Belgium specialist but it is one of my top 10 countries I collect. Glad to see others interested in Belgium. They have produced beautiful stamps for years! And I will say the officials from the Marchands are considerably harder to come by than the regular set.
I'd like to ask a question of Belgium collectors! The series Scott B784-8 issued in 1965 was surtaxed for tuberculosis work. It shows various buildings on Grand Place, Brussels: Boatman's and Archers' Guild Halls, Brewer's Hall, "King of Spain", "Dukes of Brabant", and Tower of City Hall and St. Michael. This series was listed by ATA (American Topical Assn) as part of the Mermaid topical. I've been searching images of the various buildings and don't see anything I would call a mermaid. There is a reference to Neptune and seahorses, but I can't find anything directly depicting a mermaid. Is anyone familiar with Grand Place?

As far as I can tell ATA includes Mermen in the topical of Mermaids. One example would be Faroe Islands 332. That's definitely mermen and not mermaids. That's why I'm asking if anyone familiar with the Grand Place knows of any depictions of mermaids (and not mermen) on the exterior artwork.

I'm a Belgian stamp collector and I'm very willing to help you out on any question or problem that you might have.
I also have a collection off several thousand Belgian stamps, so if you're looking for something just give me a sign and I'll help you where I can.
In the meantime have a very nice day over there on the other side of the ocean.
Best regards
I'm sending you an image of the " gildenhuis " for boatsmen.
You have to now that the original building has been destroyed during the second world war and that the building has been rebuild.
