I was looking at office supplies in the store the other day and noticed Avery clear sheet protectors advertised as acid-free / archival quality. Anyone use these for stamps? I'd like to know if these are good, safe, less expensive alternate for storing MNH minisheets or small panes instead of using Vario sheets.

Thanks,
Josh

re: Avery Clear Sheet Protectors

I use these for small panes of cinderellas--particularly National Wildlife Federation "stamps" that I have accumulated. The composition of the protectors are the same as other archival sheets (including Vario et al). I also am using them for ephemera, such as bills with document stamps, old letters, family mementos, and so on. One of the main reasons I like them is that they will hold (and display) full 8 1/2 x 11 sheets. A definite thumbs up here. Cool

I use them as interleaving between album pages. Sturdier and cheaper than the one you buy specifically purposed for the task. Plus the added benefit of being able to insert a sheet with special sets, sheets etc. into the album by sliding it into the sheet protector.

"acid-free / archival quality"

That's exactly what we need for stamps. Can't get much better than that.
