Well, it took a while, but they finally let me in. Hello everyone, this is Bob Stewart. Many of you know me from BidStart and Wensy. I look forward to being part of the discussions here!
Yes, that is a Welsh dragon. I am part Welsh, and I find that the most curious part of my ancestry. Also, even though my name is Scot, I have not Scot in my background--I am half Irish, and I know there are Stewarts in Ireland.
I realized that I did not give my collecting interests in my introduction, but my collection is quite eclectic.
I collect:
Jersey Guernsey Isle of Man Alderney
Northern Ireland Scotland Wales
Gibraltar Ireland Luxembourg Saar
Liechtenstein Switzerland West Berlin
Faroe Islands Greenland Iceland
Denmark Danish West Indies
Norway Finland Ã…land Islands
Thailand Papua New Guinea New Guinea
British Offices in China Hong Kong
I have collected since I was 11, and just turned 50 last month.
My largest collection by far is Switzerland, but I love my "little countries" as well.
I am a member of the APS, Eire Philatelic Association (Ireland), and the American Helvetia Philatelic Society. (Swiss)
I tend to buy MNH, and trade used. I really like souvenir sheets.
I use Microsoft ACCESS to track the stamps in my albums, and I just finished updating catalog values from 2008 to 2012. (I have a well used set of 2008 Scott catalogs if anyone is interested .) {I get to use the emoticons again--hooray!! )
I am getting close to 15,000 stamps catalogued.
Glad to be here!
(Oh, and cocollectibles, no worries--it is a common mistake! From my reading of Irish history, many Scots emigrated to Ireland over the years and became Irish.

Welcome back, from a fellow Wensy Refugee. Hope you enjoy yourself on here.
I don't know if you noticed, but I came up with an idea for our profiles, to protect our privacy better.
When you are asked "Willing to Correspond:" you have three choices:
YES; displays your e-Mail address
YES only thru stamporama messages; blocks your e-Mail address
NO; blocks your e-Mail address
Several new members have already selected that third option. So thank you Tim for implementing my
idea, and glad it was helpful to others.
How's that new job you just joined? Still going strong? And yes, we need to get some Florida members together to meet at a show some place.
Yea, you're back!

I hate to disappoint you, Bill, but I am focusing right now on MAKING money, not spending it. As I write this at7:35 pm, I am still at the office and prob will be for another Hour and a half.

That's okay Bob the main thing is you're back. I'm sure I'll find something to tempt you with
So what has Mr. Bob been up to while away? Hmmm...
Well, WORKING, for one. I logged 65 hours the first week of January alone in my new position as Senior Analyst-Fixed Assets for Verizon Communications in Lake Mary, Florida.
(Doesn't hurt that they are paying me OT )
My job is to report all the purchases. sales, retirements, etc for the residential side of the business. (aside: it could get VERY interesting for me when the sale of some of our areas to Frontier takes place in March!)
I have been told the first 6 mo nths is the worst, and to top it off, I joined near year end and am dealing with the auditors now. (OY VEH! )
Other than that, I am working out regularly with a personal trainer and *trying* to lose weight.
Somewhere along the way, I am trying to work on my stamps. My project right now is to compare what I have in my albums against my inventory program and then update cat values to 2015. Down to the last 3 countries: Luxembourg is almost done, then Thailand and Switzerland.
Not planning on buying for a while as I have a ton of stuff to go through right now and recovering from 5 months of unemployment. Plus we need a new car.
Enough for now. Let's talk stamps and have fun! BOB
Hey Bob congrats on your fitness goals! Good stuff. My wife and I always double down on working out around the first. We went to the gym 67 straight days last year and we've been 30 straight days this year. We usually let up a little when the weather gets nice. Really good to see you back here. Don't work too hard.

The problem for me is, when I work a lot of hours, that lowers my immune system, and I get sick. Yep, I am at home coughing up a storm, but getting some work done on examining my Thailand collection.
Just purchased an elliptical bike for home use. That will help getting the weight off.
Ernie, I followed my trainer's instructions and bought a foam roller to stretch out my back. They keep telling me I will feel good after, problem is it's pretty much torture while you do the exercise.
