Sorry for the first pictures! It's one of my 2 cats. Couldn't help taking a picture of her. This means that she is sick and tired of me working on the computer and that it is about time I gave her a cuddle on her belly! But, after all, she is a Blue RUSSIAN cat. I named her ELSA.
Now for the stamp blocks. I thought I'd share those marvelous 1958 issues of the 15 capitals. However, I would like to identify the capitals? I suppose it's written on the stamp block. I guessed the "Moscow" one.
Thanks for your help,
Daniel.
re: The 15 republics of the ex-USSR in stamp blocks(1958 issues).
The 2 blocks of stamps in your last post commemorate the 250th anniversary of Leningrad, not Stalingrad. Peter the Great founded the city as St Petersburg. During the October Revolution (1917) it became Petrograd. Immediately after the death of Lenin it was renamed Leningrad, and in 1991 it reverted to St Petersburg.
