Hi. Just wanted to confirm with some of you experts: I guess this stamp block shows victory of the allies over nazi Germany. The "V" stands for victory, I suppose. It concerns the french occupied zone.Was this sort of stamp also used in that manner in the 3 other zones?

This is a local post stamps, prepared, but never issued, for the city of Saulgau, Württemberg, under French authority right at the end of WWII. It should be listed in the Michel German specialized catalog. I have seen others, so I assume the whole set of Hitler head stamps might exist with this overprint.
Various other localities produced temporary stamps right at the end of WWII using overprints on the Hitler definitives, especially in the Soviet occupied areas. Many of these "provisionals" have been made under philatelic influence and are not necessarily valuable.
Those stamps for Saulgau was printed in May of 1945 they are listed in Michel Specialized Vol 2
12 values are a set and it was overprinted 3, 5, 6, 8, 12, 15, 20, 25, 30, 40, 42 and 50 Pf. Cat value for the set in mint** condition 160.00 Euro for a inverted overprint 50.00 Euro each.
The "V" is in red or blue, the date and Württemberg in black.
On request was also the 60 and 80 Pf. overprinted cat value for the 2 is 130.00 Euro also in mint never hinged condition.
The overprint was ordered by a French local commander but the stamps was never put in use, there were about 150.000 stamps overprinted
That is a very interesting collecting area for a Germany collector, but there are also a lot of fakes and phantasy overprints in circulation.
It is surprising how many mint** Hitler head set's of sheets are still out there. Because fakes and phantasy productions are still on going, the stamps are real but the rest is
