This scan is from the newspaper. It is in a sheet of 10.
Please forgive the ignorance of one from the other side of the globe--but do these stamps pay for specific postage rates? (Did I say that correctly or is it as awkward as it sounds to me?)

Very attractive stamps as usual.
Economically exploitative, but beautiful to look at.
Now to find postally used examples !

Give AP their due they are really milking this issue.
The second issue of the month AAT Territory issue 3 x 60c & 2 x$1-20 in a strip of 3 for the 60c and a joined pair for the $1-20, and a mini sheet. In my opinion a bit drab and dull.

re: New Issues from Australia Post Part II
I like the $3.00 Barrel Mail stamp for its incongruities.
The vessel in the distance shows some waves breaking at the stem of the bow. A sailor would see that and say "She had a bone in her teeth" meaning probably both engines full ahead and already significant way on.
The smoke streaming from the stacks supports the idea of a ship hell bent on being somewhere else
as soon as possible.
While the guys on the beach are waving in what could be a desperate attempt to signal their plight
at being left behind, or that they didn't mail the mortgage check in time, I hope it is just a goodbye
till next time wave as the odds of anyone seeing them swinging their arms back and forth at that distance
are close to nil unless some clever devil has dug out the 50x long telescope from its storage bin beneath
the chronometer cabinet.
From experience I suspect that the captain has gone below to his cabin to sip some strong brew and relax
after several hours on his feet, the off watch mates are already in the wardroom joking about the girls
in the next port and the mate on watch is in the chart room calculating the number of hours to the next
stop or examining the charts of the area to make sure their chosen course is not going to repeat the carelessness
of the crew of the Costa Concordia.
The helmsman is wondering about the next two hours being boring
The off watch helms man is below in the crew's mess sipping a cup of strong coffee
and the ordinary seaman is adding water and grounds to the coffee pot so he won't have to make a fresh brew.
Had it been a port with shore leave there might be some lovesick seaman hoping for a last glance of his
most recent conquest, or attempted conquest, but of course, had there been a port or even an anchorage
there would be no need for "Barrel Mail."
The scene should more aptly be labeled "Sayonara , suckers, see you in six months."

Australia Post is slipping in an extra stamp issue on 20th January 2014. There will be 2 values (60c standard letter rate and $2.60 IP letter rate to the UK) to celebrate Australia's recent Ashes victory (cricket to the uninitiated) over England.
Yes we thrashed the poms in the cricket 5 zip so AP issued two stamps 1 x 60c and 1 x $2-60 in sheet format today 20th Jan 2014.I did hear mention of a booklet ,but the AP shops I visited knew nothing about them? Both stamps have a decorated gutter which is the same on both values
Brian
I must apologize for the scan, but my desktop computer gave up the ghost so I'm doing this from my laptop

It is certainly a victory worthy of philatelic commemoration.
I hope that lots of them get used for regular mail.
