These are my preferences in order...1) Hunt down and collect stamps and covers ! 2) Trade stamps and covers 3)sell stamps and covers...this is just a necessary evil to me...i don't cackle with glee when i open an envelope with a few bucks in it..but i made mistakes when i began collecting..i purchased box lots which looked good at the auction house..but contained loads of 1970s and 1980s stamps which i really do not have much use for..profit is not even a thought..anything that comes into paypal is fair game for my wife who buys on a different plane than i do(she may not see this) . So i browse the net for deals and sell something on eBay now and then...i have been trading with David Giles and BobGGGG since Katrina..they know what i collect and the just send me stuff and i send them stuff..i am way past the stamp for stamp or catalog for catalog trade...if someone sends me something i can use...i will sure send something in return. And life goes on !!

Great philosophy. That's how to keep a hobby enjoyable.

Phil, it's how I trade, too. Stuff for stuff.
