Some of you know me as i have been around a while...i was on Stampoffers before James started the auction portion...then i was on the Stamp Community Forum and was happy there for 5 years until i saw some things i did not care for. I collect just about anything worldwide to 1969,also worldwide postal history, certain cinderellas, i have a decent collection of Guatemala stamps, early postcards and covers..i belong to the International Society of Guatemala collectors #853 and life member of the APS 070059 . I am trying to learn the stamps of Argentina but Guatemala was much easier. Have i said enough for one message ? phil

Hi, Phil. Are you here because SCF closed the auctions?
I like the people here better. I still check in there every day to read the threads (I do learn a lot there), but I can do without the overbearing, irascible neocons.
Thanks,thanks,thanks,yes,londonbus-wise guy !,yes, David now i recognize your avatar ! You will all be seeing a lot of me..hope not overwhelming ! cheers, phil
Thanks Ram, when he killed the auction site where a lot of us had a little fun...that was the last straw...it could have been handled so differently..methinks someone has a temper

Phil..what a shame..you ran a donation auctions German covers that fetched 5 bucks, and two days later they pull the auctions...You should ask for your money back

Hello Zipper, i don't want to belabor the subject..but, i will not participate there..i enjoyed it there for years and respected the rules...the main thing i enjoyed as a trading venue was the auction..then because of bickering about one auction the owner killed the auction site..it just did not make any sense to me ! Cheers, phil
The loss of the auction was unfortunate and sad but it's still a great place to sell at.
Last week, only a couple of days after the auction closure, I put up 44 lots for sale on one forum thread and made almost $200 within 24 hours !!
I can't do that anywhere else although I am trying.
I have to admit that SCF never caught on for me--or maybe I just never caught on for it. I think SOR was the first online community I joined, then later the forum on Delphi (I'm still there, but it has been touch & go for a while...). In both cases the interface/organization works for me, and until recently there has always been a lot of stamp posting wherein I learn much (by the time I can post at least 2 or 3 others got there before me...). It is extremely interesting that SOR has become the refuge of those fleeing SCF, BS and to a lesser extent, Delphi. Welcome from a (mostly) lurker who jumps in now and then.
Roger
