Got this cover. Lebanon stamps. return address; Beirut, Syria? did research on it. still can't determine for sure. was lebanon part of Syria? did some people consider Beirut as being in Syria? 1937 cancel.Image Not FoundThinking

Yes, at the time Beirut was in the state of Greater Lebanon which was itself part of the French Mandate of Syria.

I recently saw a cover from Germany to Beirut from the 1930s and this was addressed to Beirut, Syria.

The letter is postmarked BEYROUTH R.P. (= Recette Principale, main post office)
