I'm just restarting stamp collecting after a lapse of a couple of decades. I have a few questions.
I'm in the San Francisco Bay Area. I'm trying to figure out where I can buy supplies locally in the East Bay area, preferably within a few miles of Castro Valley. I've searched the Internet (Yelp, Yellow Pages, etc.) but haven't been able to find anything.
The cost of albums is somewhat higher than I want to pay, at least at this part of my reborn interest in collecting. I'd like to make my own pages. What weight of paper should I use? The 20 pounds paper I use for printing seems to be too flimsy. What weight would be ideal?

re: Buying supplies and paper
Re album pages and paper, look under the topic "General Philatelic - Supplies, Literature & Software" there are several threads which address this. There are even examples of other members pages. As to the type of paper, I use acid free 64 lb card stock, Ivory and Grey colors which I buy at Staples. Any office supply store handles such.

Other than Office Max being more convenient I use a similar weight white paper which is strong enough to hold stamps, an occasional cover or a souvenir sheet.

I have tried different weights, shades etc. When I would go back to Office Max or similar store I had trouble finding same paper. I have started getting 8 1/2 x 11 sheets of Scott's pages through Amosadvantage.com. It is acid free, same color and weight as their preprinted pages and already three hole punched.
