re: Need info on cachet maker Philately Equator Hamburg Germany
Well, this time Google came up empty (searching for "Philately Equator") -- except for covers by same. One response in German was retrieved, but my German is minimal so that didn't give me any info either.

re: Need info on cachet maker Philately Equator Hamburg Germany
Hi, Lee..
They appear to be a company that popped up shortly after WWII that specialized in creating and selling philatelic covers. Some had cachets, some with special postmark designs, etc. I don't think they were in business very long. Maybe it would be interesting to see the latest postmarked cover we could find.
There was a philatelic periodical that was published by the name of Equator, also out of Hamburg, Germany. Coincidence? Anyway, that periodical I believe was only published from February 1948 through March 1949. I only know of four issues... Volume 1 Number 0 through Volume 1 Number 3.
