Here is my latest autograph return.
What I did when the shuttle was flying I would send launch covers to the flight directors for their signatures. All were very receptive to these requests.
John, tell me about the cachets. Are they official NASA patches? Do you keep up with the designers of the cachets? And how about the signatures. How do you group them? Is this mission control or who? Do you have several STS 135 covers each representing a different segment of the operation? I am fascinated.

re: Autographed US space covers
Dave- The cachets are reproduced from the crew emblem which is designed by the crews. The design is made into a patch worn by the crew on their flight suits. I do group signatures as ISS Flight Directors and Shuttle Flight Directors on separate covers.

re: Autographed US space covers
I want to show what can be done with just a photo.
These photos were autographed by the Shuttle flight Directors. Each picks a designation for their shift at Mission Control. Picking a designation has been around since Apollo. I had sent the photo to one of the flight directors with a request to get as many signatures as he can. This is the results. I can email to anyone interested a full list of the Flight Directors as well as their designations.
