I only need a single and a coil pair or maybe a coil triplet with the numbers on the back. Or maybe a set with the plate block number on the bottom of one of them.
My first question is, how are coils broken down for classification? Obviously, a coil pair is two that are still connected. How many stamps would I need if I were to have the plate number? Do the coil numbers on the back matter?
How would you folks recommend breaking them up for auction lots? I'm thinking of a single coupled up with a "block" or "pair".

Hi Pat,
in general, a single design on coil is collected in strips of 5 with the plate number on the middle stamp. For those who collect the back number, if it's on the plate-numbered stamp, all the better.
I'll leave it to others to explain contemporary coil collecting habits for SAs beyond the PNC5.
