re: GERMANY HAMBURG LOCALS

These are listed in the Michel catalogue, "Spezial-Katalog der deutschen Privatmarken".

My copy is from 1990 so the prices are not particularly helpful today.

Michel lists these locals stamps by City then by company (which are identifued as A, B, C etc. within the city)

These are all listed under "Hamburg - D. HAMMONIA (I) / Stadtbriefbefoerderung".

If it's any help here are some quick attempted identifications and prices in 1990 marks:

Row 1:

Mi 39 - 1889 - mint 5.00

Mi 38A - 1888 - used 10.00

Mi 38B - 1888 - mint 2.00

Row 2:

Mi 2 - 1887 - mint 7.00

Mi 21 or 28 - 1888 - used 4.00 to 30.00 depending on perf and shade.

Mi 22 - 1888 - mint 4.00 or 25.00 depending on shade.

Mi 11 - 1887 - mint 7.00

Mi 10 - 1887 - used 5.00

Row 3:

Mi 12 - 1887 - mint 8.00

Mi 13 - 1887 - mint 10.00

Mi 14 - 1887 - mint 12.00

Mi 15 - 1887 - mint 12.00

Row 4:

Mi 27 - 1888 - mint 30.00

Mi 48 - 1889 - mint 10.00

Mi 49 - 1889 - mint 10.00

Row 5:

Mi 17 - 1887 - used 25.00

Mi 18 - 1887 - used 20.00

Mi 19 - 1887 - mint 15.00

Row 6:

Mi 20 - 1887 - mint 10.00 - "Happy New Year!" overprint

Mi 34 - 1888 - used 50.00 - postage due overprint (but with a warning that if the overprint is with a rubber handstamp then it's a forgery.)

These prices are for stamps without faults of any kind and the German market is very demanding in terms of condition.
