We certainly have had our share of stamps in the past two months. I saved up my pennies and got caught up today. I understand that there are three issues coming out on Feb 16.
So far, my least favorite is the Love stamp. It's horrible.
The Birds of Prey are very dignified. Too bad they weren't made larger.
The Bonsai booklet is replacing the pine cone booklet. It is very nice, but what is it with only 5 designs? Collect a block of 5? Couldn't they have found a sixth one? Also, there is a breaker tab between each block of four, so you cannot get a contiguous block of five.
The Year of the Dragon is a beauty!
The Aloha T-Shirts is a fun issue. I like that.
The New Mexico stamp is very nicely done.
The Lancaster County stamp is serene.
The Glacier National Park is disappointing. If it wasn't for the mountains far in the background, I would have thought it was the Florida Everglades or a golf course.
The butterfly is as expected.
Dogs at Work is a good issue, but I would have preferred photos instead.
The John Johnson stamp is a standard design.
That's all of the 2012 that I have so far. I know I still haven't gotten all that were issued yet, but I will.
Randy,
I agree that the Lancaster stamp captures the essence of the region with it's simplicity. I live about 30 minutes away from there and frequent it at least twice a year and let's face it, if you have ever been there, they do live a nice simple life.

I just cracked into a coil roll of Aloha shirt stamps to use for postage. There is a noticeable yellow line between two stamps consistently a few stamps to the left of the plate number stamp. It is just like coil line pairs on the old engraved stamps, but I do not know if it is caused by the same reasons on modern stamps, as I had not noticed anything similar on other recent coils.
The Birds of Prey are really nice looking. The Working Dogs, while I really like the idea for the stamps, they do not look as good in person as they do in the publicity image.

re: 2012 US Stamps
Some of the pictures of the latest stamps are nice, too bad the local post offices (Plural; Crystal River, Lecanto, Holder, Beverly Hills and Inverness) doesn't carry hardly any of them.
There is an old peddler's saying that the USPS seems determined to disprove or go broke trying. " ... You can't make a profit from an empty shelf !!! ..."
.
Well I guess they are well on their way to bankruptcy anyway.

The original Lancaster County stamp design was much more exciting, but they realized that including, in the image, a Lexus SUV plowing into the back of one of those quaint Amish buggies, though realistic, was bad PR.
