It was with great sadness that I read in RCSD that Mette passed away yesterday (April 1, 2009). I didn't have any direct dealings with Mette, but I always enjoyed reading her posts here and other places.
Her many websites were informative and helped re-kindle my interest in stamp collecting.
Mette will be sorely missed in the philatelic world. To her friends here at Stamporama and her family I offer my condolences.
I echo the thoughts of one poster on RCSD, lets remember the joy she brought to us.
I'm sad to hear this news. Mette was extremely giving. She taught me a lot about Slania engraved stamps and was one of the pioneers in developing beautiful and useful stamp websites.
I'd lost touch with her several years ago as I drifted in and out of the hobby. I guess time goes on regardless.
Why is this thread “live” today? The previous post is dated April 5, 2009. (I miss Ann Mette too. One of the hardest telephone conversations I’ve ever had was when she called me to say goodbye! That was only a few days before her death.)

re: Closed Album: Ann Mette Heindorff (Mette)
Well, it would not be unworthy to take a moment
and reflect on her passing, remembering a most kind
and considerate member of the stamp community.
A Danish Princess.
