I have a dozen or so used copies of the Homer Simpson stamp (Scott #4399). I noticed that one copy in particular has a background that is distinctively different in color/hue than all the others - actually looks orange.
Has anyone else noticed this in looking at their copies?
Randy, that's something new to look for!Havent seen any news on color varieties. Previously I only looked for the production dashes on the Maggie/Marge stamps.Maggie at bottom right and Marge at top right/two small dashes ( - - )about the width of one die cut. For those able to access Linns archives- check article-"Production Marks found on 44c The Simpsons Stamps" --Linns-0ct. 19,2009,page 2. These dashes only apear on one of every 6 th panes, and only on the pane that shows Marge and maggie on the backing paper.
I guess I'll have to start looking for Homer in orange. TOM
Yes, the background looks 'orange' and has wavy lines in the background. The 2nd stamp in the top row looks different than the others with orange colouring on the left hand side of the stamp. The second stamp from the right on the top row looks like it has wavy lines in the background, unless those wavy lines are caused by the vario sheet you are using for scanning.
Yes, the wavy lines are due to the Vario sheet....the true coloring doesn't stand out as much in the scan as it does actually seeing them in front of you.
The lower one's background looks like what I would describe as melon, actually.
the second and third, in the top row, and to a lesser extent, the single on the second row, have color reactions to the spray-on lines. is that related to the instability of the color in the stamp?

Ohh, Can someone post a picture of "production dashes on the Maggie/Marge stamps.Maggie at bottom right and Marge at top right/two small dashes ( - - )about the width of one die cut."
I'd appreciate it.
