I was recently asked if I knew when the first cacheted FDC was made. Not being a collector of same, I am seeking some help.

I think the question refers to the type that is produced specifically for sale.

Anybody know something about this?

Help is appreciated.

re: First Cacheted FDC

George Linn of Linn's Stamp News is considered to be the first person to create a cachet for a First Day Cover. It was for the Warren Harding Memorial Stamp in 1923.
