Is there a way to copy a lot and post another once an auction lot has closed similar to the way we can while the lot is still open without having to retype all the information contained in the original posting?
If this feature is not available at the current time is there a way to add it to our auction software sometime in the future?
I relist a lot of mint and used material over a year that are either the same or similar to previously sold lots.
As I always list a description, including catalogue number and date of issue in my listings (except for packets and/or kiloware lots), it would certainly save time retyping all this information every time I want to do a relisting.
As I have so much duplicate material to offer from a handful of countries, I'm always looking for ways to make my listing procedures a little easier.
Just a suggestion, Liz. Would it be helpful to list the information [catalogue number, date of issue, set name etc] in a Word [or whatever word-processing software you use]document or, better still, a spreadsheet [such as Excel] box and then copy and paste it to the auction listing when you have a similar lot to sell, then all you need do is add the scan. Merv
Merv I know a Excel spreadsheet would be useless as I need a little html code for the description in my listings for centering, bold, etc. The only way a spreadsheet would be useful to me is that I would have all the information handy for when I have to retype the information into the listing form.
It might work to put the information into Word documents, but I would think it would probably be quicker to look up the information in the catalogue and retype into the listing form, rather than search through hundreds of pages of a Word document looking for the description I wanted to copy and paste.
I was thinking along the lines of something similar to eBay's 'list similar item' feature where you pull up a previous item you have sold and just edit the information you want changed.
Liz, I have added a column to the List of Lots Sold that gives you a "copy" link. This "copy" link will copy the details from the sold auction lot and will start the process of creating a new lot from the originals lots data. Please give it a try for me and let me know if you have any problems.
upon making an initial bid on a lot - once you make a bid, you have the option of clicking on the "return to auction list" button, which I prefer.
However, when clicking on the "add to watch list" button - when you do this, the only option available to you in button form is "return to category list" which means you have to start all over at the beginning.
Is it possible to add a "return to auction list " button on this page at this point?
Hi Randy, I believe I have the "Return to Auction List" button working after you get confirmation of the Watch List addition. Let me know if you have any problems with it.
Hi Tim, While we are are the watchlist subject... I have had a couple people say they clicked the bid button instead of the watchlist button by accident and didn't really mean to bid. Could you maybe move the watchlist button to the far right or something that would differentiate the two significatly? Thanks Grant
