Australia Post introduce new system whereby larger mail must have a customs form attached I only found out today after a large letter to the US was returned to me ,so maybe I will have to start breaking up larger lots to avoid this?
The thing is what would have happened if my return address wasn't on the cover were would it have gone ??

re: Australia Post introduce new system ?

When exactly is mail considered large? Does this also include mail coming into Australia? I noticed that letters I send to Oz can take up to 6 weeks to arrive...

I see. It is the same subject that has been discussed here a lot, but then from the American perspective.
I have seen announcements from our Dutch postal service in which the same rules are explained (or ordained really).
So far I have not seen any action being taken or mail returned but that can change ofcourse.

I assume this is only mail to the USA ?
I have just received philatelic items from Oz in a plain envelope.
I a strange twist, I cannot send mail to Australia, only by courier (cheapest £29). This started at the onset of the pandemic and seemingly will not change. I had mail waiting to go for weeks and have just dispatched to friends in the UK for forwarding to Australia from there.
My query to Israel Post "how come I can receive mail from Australia but cannot send mail", has gone unanswered.
I have exactly the same situation with India.

The world during Covid had gone slightly awry !!Worried
