Its good to look up and see the World War 1 replicas flying over my yard with their noisy engines. Cole Palens Aerodrome is 1 1/2 miles behind my house..Back in the 1960s and 70s Cole was the chief cook and bottle washer..he fixed the planes, played the evil Black Baron in the show and so on. Cole did not care about the financial side..after the second world war Coles dream was to purchase an old farm and make it a landing strip/airfield for old planes. He started out going down to Long Island and purchasing old Jennys and airmail planes and towing them up here to Dutchess county. The man lived his dream. If anyone plans to attend the show in the future i would like to hear from you and possibly visit.
