Is anyone familiar with Czechoslovakia ? I believe this is from the 4th printing but it appears to be lake red....is this unusual ?
Thanks.
The bottom image is an Italian stamp that I found out today was unissued. Kind of a nice surprise.
Also found another 30c Orange Segnatase like the one I ruined. Now if anyone has a stamp I could borrow like the one pictured above I could duplicate it. Just the center part though. Thanks.
I'll use red ink it will be even better.

re: Is anyone familiar with this czech ?
Guess I should have posted this. Sorry I fell asleep. In all three instances the T is on the left hand of the V in Czech. Rather than center or right hand. So I'm thinking 4th printing at least. The first one is obviously different but 2 and 3 ??? Just the lake red..and the water marks appear vertical with the non lake red inverted also. It's unusual.

re: Is anyone familiar with this czech ?
Well this is what Im seeing. The top is the middle photo and the bottom the right in the photo of the 3 examples.
So maybe vertical and horizontal ? Read from the front so not inverted. I think.
The early Masaryk issues present an interesting (challenging?) collecting opportunity.
Masaryk is most famous for leading the pre-Armistice campaign to unite the Czechs and Slovaks under the banner of a single nation. He is also credited as a key proponent of Woodrow Wilson’s plan for a post-war Europe in 1918. Consequently, Masaryk was elected the first president of the new republic.
If you are using the Scott catalogue the Masaryk definitives are listed as 95 through 108, 116-117, 125,128, 129, 130, 131, and B133 through B143; upwards of 38 entries. In my opinion Scott has done a decent job presenting identifying details regarding these stamps.
Czech specialists will likely identify several additional varieties to increase the count. Including perforation, shades, size, and overprints.
The 1925 issue is the first stamp of Czechoslovakia to be produced on watermarked paper. The watermark is linden leaves, the country’s national tree. All tolled, am aware of eight different watermark positions.
A couple of good resources for the study of the early Masaryk issues are Henry Hahn’s Stamps with a Portrait of T.G. Masaryk, and Phillips B. Freer’s For Beginners: The Philately of Czechoslovakia.

re: Is anyone familiar with this czech ?
Unfortunately I don't have a scotts specialized on this yet. But what I found on the internet is showing basically 7 different types spanning 1925-1927.
A challenging series for sure but after 181 years of philatelic study 1840-2021 I'm surprised there isn't more definitive information.
I have a series of 4 Hradcany castle 1926 with watermark. But the 1927 issue supposedly has no watermark.
So if my Lake Red variety is from 1927 based on the type cause some of the types were supposely produced in 1927 then it couldn't have a watermark.
So I guess I need to figure out which type. But one source is saying 4 types another 7 and definitely not a lake red.
So just confused I guess. And as far as watermark. That mystery shall remain unsolved as far as I'm concerned. 8 different. Lol
Thanks.
Update : 1927 Type V Lake Red with watermark. un catalogued.
2nd update: minus the horizontal lines in the top .
Kindly confirm the perforation of the first stamp you presented as 10.

And I just noticed I posted the wrong picture with regards to the watermarks. It's difficult to pull photos from the gallery of watermarks that are confusing.

re: Is anyone familiar with this czech ?
Lighting is a little different. Maybe easier to view. It's of the 10 perf lake red color stamp.
My apologies it's just that I have several with similar watermarks with the orientation different.
Tommorow will attempt to scan and post the linden leaf watermark positions.
FWIW today discovered the Henry Hahn book is (still) available from the Society for Czech Philately for the bargain price of six dollars.
Believe the Phillips Freer book is OOP.

re: Is anyone familiar with this czech ?
I read something about a P1 watermark. Is that the Linden Leaf watermark ? And thanks for the info. And this is more in-depth then I ever thought. Assuming it's the linden leaf position 1.

re: Is anyone familiar with this czech ?
Thanks anyway. I just found them after alot of digging..Since everyone is just so forth coming with info. Sure I'll retain it much longer this way.
It is out of focus. Stop using a camera. Use a scanner.

I made this today for all the scanner enthusiasts. Believe it or not that's a camera. Although I need to modify the plastic back round causing the glare.
So ditch those antiquated scanners and welcome to the 21st century.
You'd be amazed how simple it was.

re: Is anyone familiar with this czech ?
And what I understand about these Czech are. That if it has the vertical watermark 1-4 that's it's rare.
THEN there are 4 watermark positions for most type
But do get a scanner or a camera stand - the images are of no use
Canon LIDE Type simple to use scanners that run off USB power can be found from $60-$100
Combinations of the above can alter the CV significantly
Forgot to add - there are also forgeries but that's another topic

re: Is anyone familiar with this czech ?
Honestly my scanner is packed. Moving.
But I made these. I determined it a type VII.
But the mustache is tricky. I found a type VII that was sold and the mustache appeared to be identical to mine.
But I think mine could possibly be a 6 based on those images.
Not sure.
Definitely a 6 or 7.
This I'm not certain. I have a picture of one sold as a 7 but not sure on mine. Mine also has a p8 watermark. Same as the one sold. So maybe 7 ????

re: Is anyone familiar with this czech ?
This has a cert. Sold for approximately 1000 us. P8 watermark.
Look closely. One hair protrudes down but the rest are there.
Just shaded.
