This very distinct black eagle mark on this SC #416 Hindenburg Memorial stamp caught my eye while going through a large accumulation of loose stamps. It is darker than the cancellation lines and can be seen clearly from the reverse side of stamp. If the eagle is an O.P., I'd like to know the history; since the stamp was issued during the early years of the Third Reich.
