This very distinct black eagle mark on this SC #416 Hindenburg Memorial stamp caught my eye while going through a large accumulation of loose stamps. It is darker than the cancellation lines and can be seen clearly from the reverse side of stamp. If the eagle is an O.P., I'd like to know the history;Image Not Found since the stamp was issued during the early years of the Third Reich.

re: Third Reich Germany Overprint or Cancellation?

this is one of the great things about SOR.

A question begets an answer; and others add to it. There's no competition for best answer and no fighting about who is most right, just continuous additions to the knowledge.

All of you ought to be proud, not only of your knowledge, but of the generous and caring ways you share it.
