Judging from past experience on StampoRama, I'm confident someone will know what "FAM 18" means on what looks like a fairly common rubberstamped cachet for first flight covers. My weak guess is "First Air Mail" for the FAM. But "18?" So far it's the only number I've seen on covers for sale.

FAM is "Foreign Air Mail", 18 is the particular airmail route.
While we are at it:
CAM = "Contract Air Mail" which is the designation for US domestic routes.
These routes, extensions, first flight cachets etc are all documented in the 5 volume "American Airmail Catalogue" published by the American Airmail Society (AAMS)
