re: Paypal

Sounds like Paypal would make a great government committee - THEY never seem to get anything done either!

re: Paypal

I contact them yesterday through e-mail and they reply right away.
I never call because they always reply me through e-mail.

re: Paypal

PayPal and customer service are two mutually exclusive terms, imho.
I have had several issues (not that serious fortunately) and always found that PayPal has only one interest: it's own.
So be it, I have to live with it because I cannot choose to go without them.
95% of all payments I receive is through PayPal and for now the advantages outweigh the annoyances.
I do try to minimize the amount of money I keep in my account. I trust my bank account more Happy

re: Paypal

eBay has stopped using PayPal on most deposits and is using direct bank transactions instead. I wonder why?

More control and the "float" - it adds up

re: Paypal

Yes the float, as they keep your money a week at the very least. Adds up when you consider millions of sellers.

Paypal and ebay parted ways a couple of years back and ebay said they were going to do that - come up with their own version of Paypal which does indeed transfer money to your bank account. This is the same way Amazon works so it is no surprise to me to see ebay follow suit. There are advantages to the seller which I will not go in to, but it is a little time consuming when it comes to analyzing a general ledger report. Used to be, the credit card statement would list each charge and who it was associated with. Now it says simply EBAY and the seller has to pull up the years purchase list (which I just did) to see if it is a business cost or cost of goods sold (inventory). Everyone was supposed to switch to managed payments by year end. I had no choice - I had to do it much earlier probably because of the level of my store.
