Several times a day I check "new books" and then put them in order. I managed to miss a wonderful Poland book that had several stamps I badly wanted. But since it showed up well down the page I didn't see it until every stamp I wanted was gone. Is there a way I could order the books so this wouldn't happen? They are ordered by number instead of when they are actually available. This is one of several times this has happened to me and I still am not sure how to avoid it again!! If I set "my favorites" and included the areas I collect would I fix this problem? Or do I just have to always remember to look at the whole page every time?
The default sort of approval books is by sold percentage (0% to 100%). You can override that sort by clicking on any heading in the approval book list. Try it out and see what works best for your needs.

What I click puts them in order by number. This is fine 99% of the time but sometimes a book shows up way down the page - not really sure why unless the person has been working on the book for a while. I just have to be more careful and check the whole new page.
A book will show up down the list as it sells out. The more sold out, the lower it goes in the list by the default sort.
You can also do a search for a key word using the search function. Go to it in the Approvals main page. Click on SEARCH, then select "KEY WORD" from the left drop down list. Enter POLAND, then click on SEARCH. At this point in time, 8 books of Poland appear in the list.

re: It happened again - how does this happen?
When I check the books I first click on "New Books" and then I click on "Book". What I get then has nothing to do with the percent sold from each book - it puts the books in numerical order from highest to lowest. Sometimes there are gaps in the numbers and these gaps sometimes sometimes get filled in later. Does this happen because the numbers are issued when the seller requests the book and if he/she takes a while to fill in the book it can enter the queue at a later time? This is why we have to be careful not to miss a book that shows up later. I hope I explained this properly. I know I could search by country but I collect several countries and also like to check the "world" books as well. What I do is easier for me, I just have to careful of books that come in later.

Yes. Or the seller makes up the book on a Wednesday but because there are more members logged in on a Sunday that is when they "Activate" the Book.

Thanks Ian - that answers my question perfectly! You're the only one who really understood my question.
Harvey:- I don't see a way round your problem until the "New Books" section is reduced to only books added within the past few days.
The oldest Book currently in the New Books section was listed on the 21st January, which is about 20 days. There are currently 75 Books listed in the New Books list.
I assume when the time definition of New Books was laid down no one could guess that the Approval Book system would be so successful.
When you consider that most books sell very little after 2 to 4 days maybe it is time for the situation to be reviewed.

Maybe when the time is available it could be done as an extra line in the search feature.
Presently the options are "seller, Keyword, Book/Page". An addition of "unviewed/unseen" would, with the appropriate coding, suffice.
Sounds simple but I am sure could be a lot of work for our wizard (thank goodness it's not Rincewind).
Books you have not seen display "NEW" in a dark circle. It is not hard to scroll down the page and look for the BOLD "NEW" in circle. It might take all of 5 or 6 seconds to scroll down the page to see if the blg "NEW" in circle jumps out at you
This is a hobby - it is supposed to be relaxing

It's not that something is hard to do, it's remembering to do it! I think it's an age thing. Stamp collecting is relaxing, if I feel a little stressed I take a nap! The joys of being a retired person with no obligations who hates to do housework - so I don't!!!
