I am by no means an expert, but believe the stamp is from Italy and is an economic exhibition stamp of some kind. The word Mostra also signifies specimen. And in my great knowledge of Latin, believe the date is 17-24 October, 1948.
This is all a guess on my part, but may point you in the right direction.

Added, believe the words at the top translate as airmail. I cannot find in my Scotts.

"Ok, I give up. How did any one come up with Yugo or even Trieste."
Oldpaul was close, Scott lists it after Yugoslavia as Trieste Zone B.
As Jan Simon points out, the clue is the "STT Vuja". Look for that in the Scott index and it will send you to Volume 6.

I also use google to find things, but never just typed non English words to find things. Lesson #2. Thanks Jansimon.
Been a good day, you can teach an old dog new tricks.
