re: For the Season of Peace a GIVEAWAY DRAWING! WINNER POSTED!
OK Theresa, I'll have a go. Thanks.
Human rights stamps are going to be a section in the Holocaust Stamps Project (Canada) stamp album I'm building. So if I'm the lucky one that's where they'll go!
re: For the Season of Peace a GIVEAWAY DRAWING! WINNER POSTED!
Stamporama folks - I'm a bit saddened that NO ONE here in the forum thanked me for hosting this giveaway. At least LeMaven posted a thanks for the video though.
Giveaways like these attract members to the forum and tempt them to watch the discussions more closely. That, in turn, benefits everyone, especially the sellers. Plus these fun events increase enthusiasm and good feelings for the group overall. They are a good thing! If you want to help the forum thrive, encourage these types of activities. Even if you don't enter, you can show appreciation to the host by saying thank you.
In any case, I know everyone is busy because of the holidays, but dang folks, it is just plain old fashioned basic good manners to say thank you when someone extends a kindness to you. Even just clicking LIKE is a simple quick way to say thanks - but NO ONE did! My puppy is moping around that no one "liked" his video, too. Poor little fella! I'm bummed, dudes! We can do better! Sheesh! I may have to sic Miss Manners on y'all! (just kidding lol)

Yeah!! Give that little doggie a treat for me! Thank you for having the drawing. I have just started a UN collection after winning a large lot of UN at our club raffle last spring.

Hey Theresa! Grateful for the half-acknowledgement, but Miss Manners (or perhaps Sherlock Holmes) surely would have noted my full-thanks were given. Next time just send me the stamps and save yourself the work and heartache!!!

That (the video) was cute as heck T!
Even losing (the giveaway) was fun!
Merry Christmas (thank you very much for taking time away from your beloved Schnauzer to do this for us, even during the busy shopping season)
P.S. I just noticed my original reply also said
Thanks (for hosting this fantastic giveaway, it is much appreciated)

Don’t be discouraged, some people are just inconsiderate boobs. As you might know, I have given away free stuff in a monthly contest since July 2016 on Stamp Smarter. To date I have given away well over $3000 worth of stuff (including a significant amount of postage). Here are the previous prizes and winners. https://stampsmarter.org/features/Contests_Previous.html
I get a ‘thanks’ about 2/3 of the time from those who win, a ‘thank you’ follow up from the winners is always appreciated but I no longer expect it. My intent is to give back to the hobby and spread some goodwill and I try to focus on that whenever I run into inconsiderate behavior.
What you did was good for the hobby and a kind, generous act.
Don

That is very generous of you 51studebaker.
I think you could offer such giveaways for young collectors who will be more thankful and will remember you.

Don, that was very nice of you to say. It has been a rough time this year for all of us and I think it has impacted my patience. Ah well. Apologies for being a lecturing school marm! And sorry for the late replies - it was family time - a very small get together due to Covid, but still a good time.
I was thinking that I might try something new to get folks to participate in feedback for giveaway drawings. Stay tuned! I'll give it a go in January!
And LeMaven - hun - I laughed at your suggestion to just send you the stamps and avoid the aggravation. You're a hoot and a half! And may I suggest that if anyone is getting frustrated trying to identify the early Irish overprint varieties, well I'll happily take those raskly lil stinkers off your hands to save you from tearing your hairout trying to discern blue-black and black inks. Haha!
Prize will be mailed today!

I always appreciate everyone who adds to the value of Stamporama, and who provides more fun here. I think that was the most unique winner drawing I have ever seen! That was fun to watch. I bet you're glad there weren't 100 entries! Thanks. well done. By the way, your voice sounded like one of my cousins!
