Phil's post on a different thread reminded me I should post some more postcards from my Santa collection. To start off Santa goes to war. In the first Santa thread I showed the stationary with Santa in an Army uniform. I found a matching cover with him in Navy Blue. Both are from WWII. The third card Santa greats a soldier from WWI.
The next five scans are Santa in various color suits. There might be a couple I showed last year.
Over the next few days I have a few dozen more to post. I picked up some more hold to light cards just not sure how to best show them lit up.
More alternate modes of transportation used by the big guy. Bicycles, motorcycles, sled, crashed sleigh, train, truck, horse, car, dog sled, snow shoes and an express delivery cart.
Here are few more Santa cards.
The first card is Santa in a walnut. Next he is an American Indian and the the last is Saint Nicholas with Black Pete. For more information check this link. https://blackpetehistory.weebly.com/
This group is a clean shaven Santa driving a car. Next is Saint Nicholas with Krampus. More information here. https://www.britannica.com/topic/Krampus
The third card has Santa with the Easter Bunny.
Here are a few new cards that arrived this week for my Santa collection.
The first card is Buster Brown, his sweetheart Mary Jane, and his dog Tige dressed as Santa. The second card is a child hitting Santa & he don't look amused. The third card shows an image of Santa holding up a message. I have several of this style and the message is preprinted on the card.
I received a new Santa card. It's the first card and has a smaller vignette than the other two cards. The 2nd has gold high lights. The 3rd card is the basic image
They are all printed in Germany.
