Europe/Other : How about Irish fake overprints?

I think, therefore I am - I think!

I have now about three quarters of the early Irish overprints thanks to one person on SoR and my regular stamp dealer. This is the smaller British overprinted stamps, not the larger higher valued ones - those are harder to find and very expensive. There is something that confuses me a bit. With my experience with early overprinted Poland and Russia I would expect tons of repros. But Scott's doesn't mention the possibility of fakes for early Ireland. Does that mean I am more or less safe, or does it mean Scott's decided for some reason not to mention them? I know with all the experts on SoR someone can help me! I've learned how to measure and identify the various overprints, do I also have to worry about repros?

re: How about Irish fake overprints?

Hmmmm I don't see any warnings about forged overprints in my Hibernian Catalog and don't recall reading any articles anywhere about fakes, but I've never done research to confirm that.

Fake cancels, however, do exist.

FYI - if you haven't purchased a copy of the 2020 Hibernian yet, don't miss out because I heard that Roy Hamilton-Bowen is retiring and hasn't been able to find someone to continue the project so this may be the final edition. The 2020 is a hardback and has oodles of new information.
