Canada/Other : Another Question

I collect UR plate blocks and I have noticed that over the upper left stamp in the selvage there are sometimes a pair of holes/punctures. They look to me almost to be the size and spacing of staples. Did they use staples in the selvage back in the day or is there another explanation? In the meantime, I’ll try to post a picture or link.

Thanks Mike R

re: Another Question

For a period of time the post office stapled sheets together in a bundle or pad; in later years they switched to wrapping the bundles shrink-wrapped in plastic to keep them together.

In Plate 4 in the UR configuration the "holes" are noticeable.

I Scott 362Plate 2 and they are definitely holes.
