I have been looking for Haiti Sc #191 20 C de P blue-green for a very long time and have never seen it. It is always confused when listed on sale, with Haiti Sc #198 20 C de P yellow-green & Black.
Now does anyone have a #191. I am starting to doubt its existence.
Attached is the #198 scan
Thanks

re: Early Haiti Help needed
Yes and yes...the two stamps are distinctively different, and can be identified in just a glance. They both are 20 C de P. Yet any listings I have seen on various sites has always shown #198. I am always surprised how sloppy some sellers are. I have never seen #191 after years of search, so I am seriously doubting of its existence. I have the correct stamp with all the subsequent surcharges, but not this one.
Both stamps in AntoniusRa's collection are misplaced as they have an added surcharge. (They are #197 and #198)
He does show the right color and surcharge on his #191, but unfortunately it has an additional o/p. These Haiti 1914-1919 stamps are a real challenge.

PS: has anyone heard from Mitch (AntoniusRa)?

I had emailed Mitch and he replied during the night. I am bumping up this posting so he will see it in the 'last 30 by time' and hopefully visit and reply.

Thanks Mike (meostamps). I was about to email him. I hope he shows up again here, as I miss his posts with scanned pages of his collection. (I was going to point to the error on his Haiti page )

I hope he's well, the first place I go when I am curious about a stamp or group of stamps is his web site. According to this group of posts he is not exactly perfect all the time, but who is. I feel like I don't know you people well since I've only been a member for about a year and a half, but I look forward to going on this site a few times a day. It seems like part of my life now! Have a good and safe week!!!

RRRaphy,
Those old Haiti overprints can be really tricky. I've been looking over them and am just getting more and more confused. It also seems like I'm missing some spaces. No.191 looks
Blue to me and I see no Green in it. Sorry but I can't really be any help. I've forgotten more than I thought I never new about Haiti

Good to hear from you Mitch. I was wondering how you were doing, and I miss your posts here. Re: Haiti, these overprints are real killers. I will scan and post my pages, for reference here, if it can help anyone.

re: Early Haiti Help needed
rrraphy, It's very nice to hear from you as well. I just haven't been doing much with stamps for some time and I'm not sure whether my interest will return. Every since losing most every thing from the house fire and falling off the roof, I really haven't the means to continue with it or anything else. I use to check in more frequently but any questions had already been asked a hundred times or I had no interest in the topic. Thanks for scanning your pages. I'll compare them with mine and correct my mistakes. One of the problems is the overprints are often very blurred.
I haven't been able to upload anything to my site for quite sometime. The program I was using made some changes and I have not been able to figure out how to connect with it.
good to see ya back Mitch. Hope you are well and get back in the stamp spirit ! You info and commentary is always educational and appreciated. Your collection on your site is amazing !
