Just cannot find it in Czechoslovakia, Germany, Bohemia, Hungary. I know it is originally from Czechoslovakia but cannot find the overprint of a swastika and Lubenz.
Thanking you in advance for your help.
Could be a local, issued by the Nazis or a pro-Nazi group just after the Nazis took over the Sudetenland in 1938. Lubenz is the German name for the Czech village of Lubenec. I think the first word of the inscription below is "Our" but I can't make out the rest - it might say something like "Our time is here!" I am sure someone else who knows for sure will chime in.
Hi All,
Thank you for your information, and I do now see that note from 1938 about certain stamps overprinted with a swastika.
Everybody's answers are much appreciated, and once again they have solved a problem,
Cheers,
John
The "LUBENZ Unsere heimat ist frei!" is not a cancelation.
It is an overprint on the stamp and probably FAKE.
The stamp has a cancellation at the bottom right corner but is unreadable.
There are many NOT- und BEFREIUNGSstempel but like this never seen one.
