When seen alongside another it definitely looks as though the colour has been washed out. It is a problem with the used stamps of this era as they used a fugitive ink.
The aniline stamps of this value were printed by Harrison, perf 14 and come with watermark upright and inverted.
First known use was 3rd May 1911, yours is dated 1905 so is extremely unlikely to be aniline.
