I know we will not get it to the degree that The Caribbean and the Southern and Eastern parts of the US got it, but in Nova Scotia right now we are getting the remnants of Teddy. I assume now it is a tropical storm, but we will still probably lose power, we always do - branches on power lines! I don't have a generator, but I do have a basement connected to a pump since it tends to flood on occasion. So fingers crossed, I need a new motor on the furnace anyway, so maybe after the storm. How about some stories about what the rest of you went through!
Addition next day: The storm veered a little bit and the Halifax area got very lucky. Cape Breton, however got hit quite badly today! I don't know people who live in places like The Caribbean can stand being hit several times per year. I guess they have no choice! They get the real thing, we get what's left over!

re: waiting for Teddy

We have Tropical Storm Beta hanging around here for a couple of days. One Wednesday we are supposed to see sunshine again. Fortunately, for us, the storm turned north-eastward. We are far enough inland and to the west this time to just get some of the outer bands. The result was some always much needed rain. This time of years (mid-September to mid-October) is our fall wet season anyway. We have the other one in late May through early June, and the winter one gives us with some ice in mid-January to early February.
