I am just putting together an order to a collector in Canada. Found all stamps no problem except for 1. This one is a Canadian year of the dog permanent stamp.
I searched through my stockbooks over and over, but no sign of the stamp. Who knows it may be in another country by now!
But then I recalled something and a strange feeling came over me. Just yesterday I received a letter from a board member abroad who also had some trouble filling in my order. A couple of stamps were missing. So he decided to send me a mint Canadian stamp as a compensation.
Guess which stamp he mailed? This exact Year of the dog "P" stamp I am looking for right now!
What are the odds of this happening?
Receiving his stamp within a day of realizing I need one of these? Very - very - very low!
I did find the stamp eventually! I had put it back in the package of Canadian duplicates believing it did not sell.
Of course I found it AFTER I had sealed the letter and affixed the mint copy on the envelope. So I had to reopen, correct my narrative, reseal and the buyer received an older stamp on the cover instead of a 2020 issue.
At least I am happy the order was completed 100% (for what I know :-)
