There is yet another truth to consider. One must be nice to one's children-remember, they will pick out the nursing home down the line.

Is that who it is Don Knotts ? My Grandfathers died at home with the women tending to them. This Nursing home stuff must be a new racket..Of course we don't have much choice in the matter but i would like to die in bed or mowing the so called lawn.

One of those completely innocent and utterly blameless remarks that jolts: my 4-day-younger cousin died mowing his lawn. Or, not, as he managed to walk inside the house, and collapse on the living room sofa, while his wife (a career ER doc, I kid you not) tried in vain to keep him alive until the ambulance arrived.
Tough business, getting old. Clearly, not for everyone. (He was in his early 50s.)
