I collect mail sent from Frankfurt am Main during its independence as a City State. The stampless cover illustrated here is new to my collection. The address is in French. I’m not proficient in French and cannot fully read what’s written on it. It is addressed to Johann Eustach, Count von Goertz. (1737-1821) He was Prussia’s representative to Reichstag at Regensburg from 1788 to 1806. Can you translate the address?

re: Frankfurt 1820 stampless to Count Goertz

"À son Excellence, Monsieur le Comte des Goertz, Grand-croix des ordres d.. M. le Roi de Saxe, son chambellan Conseiller, intime actuel et ancien minittre"

Does not make much sense to me, I am afraid.

...chambellan,Conseiller intime,actuel et ancien Ministtre.
This is the correct transcript.
These are the medals and titles held by Count Goertz

Hello BWSchulz,

That's a nice piece of history.

I'm surprised that the Count had been a representative of Prussia given his Saxon titles.

Could he have been the representative of the Elector of Saxony (the future king) at Regensburg?
