Image Not FoundHi all, let me start by saying how much FUN this group is!!!

Question - these are Switzerland #54, 56, 58, and 59. The #59 has paper that is twice as thick as the others but Scotts makes no mention of thick/thin papers after 1862. There is a granite paper in 1881 but I find no red & blue threads in it.

Also wondering about the rectangular cancellation on 58?

Thoughts?

Thanks!Image Not Found

re: paper question

I cannot say much about the paper, except that there are variants with and without silk threads. However, the rectangular postmark says "Fahrpost-Aufgabe", it is probably from Basel, and was used for mail that was handed in for rail or stagecoach transport. See https://www.post-und-geschichte.ch/site/uploads/pdf/artikel_homepage/ch_inland/po_2008_fahrpoststempel.pdf (in German) for details about these postmarks.
