Does anyone have access to a current/recent Yang Hong Kong catalogue and would be prepared to do a lookup for me? I'm embarrassed to say that my catalogue is 30+ years old!
The 1978 Coronation Anniversary set has 3 varieties, double blue on the 20c and a plate flaw and inverted watermark on the $1.30. A scan of that page would be greatly appreciated
With the price of catalogues, having old editions is nothing to be ashamed of. The various catalogue publishers provide supplemental information that is often missing from other catalogues (Scott versus Gibbons versus Michel, for example). If you don't need a catalogue set for valuing purposes, or new issues, an older edition usually works just fine.
Be not ashamed. At our stamp shop, we have a library of reference materials. We let customers come in to the shop, go up to the library, and bring along their stamps to do research. We have some new and pricey catalogues, but we also have some very old ones. Some of the information in the old versions is not in the new versions!
