My copy looks the same. It isn't blue. You can see the difference if you place this stamp with a blue stamp. However, it isn't violet either. You can see the violet in the ink color, but I would call it more of a deep or dark violet. It's one of those shade things, but I do think it is mislabeled as merely violet.
