I don't have a SG catalog or Unitrade. My Scott doesn't give me any help. I would like to know if the New Brunswick stamps were issued with gum or not. thanks in advance.

re: New Brunswick

Hey Michael. Does your "Yes" mean gum or no gum?

re: New Brunswick

I collect Canada and Provinces, New Brunswick stamps were issued with gum just like any other area. I have a few mint with gum and a few that appear to be mint without gum. I think that's normal.

re: New Brunswick

Thanks Harvey and Michael. I am going through an old album I purchased. There are several Newfoundland as well as some New Brunswick. They are all without gum.

re: New Brunswick

I was looking through my early Canadian Provinces and quite a few appear to be mint with no gum. I'm not sure, but I think I read somewhere that a lot of early collectors removed the gum so stamps wouldn't stick to the album. Also an early way to collect was to stick mint stamps in the album and later the stamps would need to be soaked for removal. Also some very very early collections had stamps pasted in albums - not what we do today. When I was a kid I collected Red Rose tea cards and taped them into scribblers!

re: New Brunswick

If a stamp was issued without gum, Scott states that. If there is no such notation, the stamp was issued with gum. Also, on older stamps, you can check the Classic Catalogue to see if there is a never hinged valued for a stamp. If there is, then the stamp was issued with gum.
