Today I learned about Customized Postal Indicia from Canada Post.
Over the last week I got around to soaking some stamps saved for me by friends and relatives. Sorting through them I found some like the scan here and wondered what they were. They weren't stamps or meters or 'Picture Postage' but some of them look quite like stamps printed on the envelope.

After some searching on the Canada Post web site I found that "A Postal Indicia is a marking that identifies the service name and the customer number. It must be printed or applied to each mail item when paying by commercial account."
These are what are called Customized Postal Indicia and the design requirements are at
https://www.canadapost.ca/tools/pg/indicia/PostalIndicia-e.pdf
I have likely seen them before but apparently paid little attention to them. I don't know who the senders were but found it interesting that all but the last one have the same Canada Post customer number on them.
Anyone else seeing these? A sort of picture postage for the mass mailer.

I received this recently from (IIRC) the Red Cross with their customer number...

I've thrown most of them out.
